8 Weeks Old

I am trying to catch up on posts! I posted a bunch of pictures from the last few weeks, keep scrolling down. :)

These pictures are from yesterday, Drake turned 8 weeks old! I can't believe it! I can't imagine my life without this precious little guy!

We had a few weeks with a very fussy baby that had a very gassy tummy, but he is feeling much better now.

We are having so much fun these days! He is smiling all the time, cooing, trying to giggle, trying to roll over, blowing spit bubbles, really studying his surroundings & so many other things I'm sure I'm forgetting.

Cooing & Smiling

Happy Boy!

Reaching for Mommy

Checking out his toes for the 1st time!

I would want to check them out too, they are so precious!

This 1st pic is from Mother's Day. He obviously isn't 6 weeks old here & I don't look so great, but it is the only pic of the 2 of us I have so far.

1 Month Old

It's been a little while since I updated!

We are doing good, adjusting to life with our little guy. Drake will be 6 weeks old tomorrow! I can't believe it. He is growing & changing so fast!

A little over a week ago we took him to Portrait Innovations to get his newborn/1 month pictures done. I wanted to wait until he was a month old so it wasn't just a bunch of pictures of him sleeping. It was fun, he did great & we got a ton of good pictures! Of course I have attached a few (out of the 60 the took) for you to see. :)

I moved Drake to his crib about a week ago & I think we are all sleeping better! He grunts & cries out a lot in his sleep & I would wake up thinking he was waking up. I now use the monitor on low so I can hear him when he really cries, but not all the little noises. His room is so close to ours I don't really even need the monitor, but I have to keep his door closed due to the cats. I am so afraid they are going to get in the crib! Anyone looking for a cat companion?? Seriously.. He has started to "sleep thru the night" (which for all you soon to be Mommies is considered a stretch of 5 to 6 hours at a time, who knew!). For several nights he slept form 10:30-11:00 until 4:00am & then back to sleep until 7:30! But last night we were back to every 3 hours up to eat. Hopefully he isn't going back to that! I think he may be starting another growth spurt because during the day he is wanting to eat every 2 hours again!

What else...We are still have issues with gas pains & reflux. Yes I said it. I did start him back on the Zantac, even though I didn't want to. He is showing more classic signs & if it helps I guess it's worth it. He should grow out of both here in the next couple months. Can't wait for that!! Luckily neither seem to keep him up at night!

The side job that I mentioned in the previous post (the remodel job next door to us) doesn't seem so promising anymore. As far as work that Dustin is doing, it has come to a stop. It's a long story, but they aren't wanting to pay what the bids are. I told him not to do any of the bided jobs without the money up front, because if you do you aren't going to get your money. Get what I'm saying? Just proves anything that seems to good to be true, usually is.

I'm already getting really nervous to come back to work. Dustin has been so busy & stressed about work that he hasn't been home much. I am afraid that it is going to make for some long nights for him when I do come back. Drake has gotten so used to & so attached to me. I told him yesterday we need to start this week with him doing more in the evenings (bedtime, getting up at night, etc) that way Drake won't be so alarmed when I'm not here. We will see how it goes...

That's about it! Just living our life day to day & spending time with Drake!

Hope everyone is doing well! A Congratulations goes out to newlyweds Mindy & Josh. The pictures I have seen are amazing! Mindy you were a beautiful bride!
