Jumping into June

June was moving month! We were packing, making sure all the paper work was moving along, inspections, insurance quotes, etc, etc...

But we still made time for some playing!!!

We moved into the new house June 17th. It was a little crazy and unorganized as moving always seems to be. Drake adapted better than I could have asked for. For a while he would panic for a few minutes when we put him in his bed, but has since gotten over that too! It is great to have a bathroom for him and our own bathroom in our bedroom! I also love having the washer and dryer on the main level, the only thing better would have been by the bedrooms. But beggar's can't be choosers.

Moving on to May

May was filled with Birthday parties, playing outside and procrastination on packing to move. I did not feel well at all for most of May. Luckily Drake was able to keep my busy and my mind off of it most of the time. :)

Drake found a new favorite spot under the end table. He is a perfect fit!

He LOVES to mow with Daddy!! He hears the mower start in the house & starts yelling to go outside.

Rewind to April

April was a busy month for the Steinhauser Family.

We started out the month by selling our house to a friend of ours. We mentioned that we were thinking about putting it on the market to take advantage of the stimulus deal and he said that he would be interested. The rest is history.

It took a while to get everything finalized with the sale so we ended up only having a week to find a house and sign a contract by April 30th. A little stressful, but probably a blessing for us. I think we could have looked at houses forever. It is one of our favorite things to do!

We found a ranch that we really liked over by Maple Woods College and had signed a contract. But something in my gut was telling me it wasn't right. With 2 days left Dustin suggested I get online one more time to see if anything else had come available or if there was something we may have missed. Sure enough there was a 2 story just about 4 miles from our old house that had only been on the market for 2 days! We went that afternoon, looked at it & wrote a contract! There are a few things we are wanting to update, but it has most everything we were looking for!

We also found out at the beginning of April that we are expecting Baby #2! This was defiantly a surprise for us, but with all the struggles we had the 1st time around a surprise was kind of nice. I have felt pretty sick most days, but it's all part of it. Drake will be 19 months when the baby arrives in December. Having 2 little ones that close will for sure keep us busy, but it will be great when they are able to start playing together!

Of course at the end of April and the beginning of May we celebrated Drake's 1st Birthday!

Drake's Party

We started out May celebrating Drake's Birthday with family and friends!! We had a Backyardigans/Elmo Party at our house and it went great!! It is so nice to know we have so many people around us that care so much about our little guy!

Drake Turns 1 ~ April 29, 2010

Since I haven't posted in 8 months we are going to have to go back a couple months to at least blog about Drake's 1st Birthday! Hopefully this week we can catch up to now & then do a little better about keeping up!

It's Been A While!!!

Hello All!!!

Obviously it has been waayyy too long since my last post! Drake, work & life has been keeping me busy & away from posting. But I am jumping back on board & vowing to try & do a better job (at least once per month).

I can't believe it buy our baby Drake is already 6 1/2 months old!!

He is so active & is such a happy boy these days! He is doing many things these days. He has been eating baby food now for about a month, after all that fuss in the begining. He eats a fruit for breakfast & then a fruit & veggie for dinner. With every meal he also has the Gerber puffs, which he absolutely Loves & his sippy cup with water. He can even do his sippy on his own now! He has just started the new fun game of throwing his cup on the floor & Mommy picks it up.

Another big milestone is he is sitting up on his own!! It's been about 3 weeks now. It is great & floor time is becoming our favorite place to be. He still (since he was about 3 weeks old) insists on standing up most of the time. He has no interest in crawling either. I swear he is just going to take off walking one day. I am not making any predictions, but it is going to be funny to see a 8 or 9 month old walking around the house, LOL!

At the end of October I took Drake to Shear Madness to get his 1st haircut. I had been putting it off, but his hair was growing over his ears & down his collar, so it was time. He did so good! We of course had to renew the spike! Of course I couldn't resist the 1st haircut certificate & a pair of shoes. They were a little expensive, but they are soo cute! :) He isn't spoiled or anything!

Just this week he has started sleeping through the night!!! I hope it continues & I didn't just jinx myself. He goes to bed between 7 & 8 (usually closer to 7) & gets up around 7 in the morning. He also is settling into more of a nap schedule taking a 2 to 3 hour morning nap & about an hour afternoon nap. He is a much happier boy with his sleep!

I am sure there are many things that I am missing, but this is getting lengthy so that is all for now. Enjoy the pictures!

He weighed in at 17 pounds & 25.5" long. Still in the 25th percentile.

Happy 4 Month Birthday!

August 29th we celebrated Drake's 4 month Birthday by spending an afternoon/evening out on our deck just hanging out. It was a chilly day that day outside, so Drake got to wear his camo pants & the jacket Grandma Robin got him on one of her work trips.

He has started finding himself in the mirror. He just looks, smiles & coos at "the baby".

"Mom would you please quit pointing that thing at me!"

I can't believe he is already 4 months old!

Playing in his "jumpy"! He has moved to his favorite thing being the swing to the jumpy. Luckly he still does like his swing, but he is becoming much to busy & active.

4 Month Checkup & Tummy Time

On 8/31/09 we went for Drake's 4 month well check up. He is a healthy boy, thank the Lord! He is now weighing in at 14lbs 4oz & is 25 1/4" tall. Just incase you aren't keeping track that means he has gained 8lbs 2 oz since birth & is 6" taller! Wow, I hadn't thought about that! I did notice he was taking up most of the changing table these days. I always get his diaper & wipes out before I take off the old one & multiple times a day he kicks them off the end at some point. :) It's amazing how fast he has grown physically, mentally & emotionally! He is such a sweet boy giving out lots of hugs & kisses to Mommy & Daddy! Even though his kisses come with gobs of slobber I will take all I can get!

Grandma Roseanna got him new wrist toys & one of them is a cow of some sorts. It has a big orange nose. For whatever reason he really enjoys it! And it doesn't even have big eyes. :)

I know I say it all the time, but once again I am so in love with this little guy, his is just amazing!!! And he defiantly knows how to melt Mommy's heart!

Sitting UP in the Boucy

A couple weeks ago as I was trying cereal for the 2nd time in the bouncy instead of the high chair. I put him in it & realized I didn't have a bib. I could see him all the way up the hall, it would literally be 2 seconds as I opened his drawer that he would not be in my sight. Needless to say as I walked back out of his room this is what I saw. When I left him he was leaning back in the bouncy, like he was supposed to be. Drake decided the doggies on his toes looked like much more fun then staring at the end table. :) Luckily he didn't fall on his head & I was not awarded the "bad Mommy" award.

This little guy defiantly keeps me on my toes!
