Pictures are up!

This is what you see when going up the stairs to our bedrooms! It reminds me every time that our little one will be here soon! I hope he likes his room as much as we do!

Again, here is our changing table & comfy rocking chair! I purchased the Diaper Genie yesterday, which we are super excited about (oh the small things in life)! The baskets have all the essential items in them & are ready for use!

The quote above the window says
"Some people dream of angels I hold one in my arms "

Drake has his own pet fish already!
Actually we have had our "Fishy" for some time, but we decided it would be a good addition to his room!
The blue picture above the chairs says
"Teeny, tiny little toes, small and round litle nose; A precious gift from heaven above, my sweet baby that I love."

Here is his name again, nothing has changed. I am trying to think of something to hang under it. The picture to the right says "Blessings come in all shapes and sizes".

I didn't realize until I had everything out that all our pictures are frames. So right now they are of strangers, but soon enough they will be filled with our growing family!

Siblings & Friends

Scout & Kenzie have become quite the pair these days. They are always together either playing, sleeping, or causing trouble!
We have taken them places seperately now & then & the whole time one is gone the other is pouting & looking around the house. It really is cute!

Even though they aren't really "blood" siblings, they have so many of the same markings & physical features.

She has discovered & LOVES rawhide bones!!! It will keep her busy for at least a couple hours. The sharing is still a little hard at times. They both like to "hide" their bones around the house from each other. It is pretty funny!!

She is now 19 weeks old & is weighing in at 33 pounds!! Yes, she is going to be a big girl!! Gaining 6 pounds in 1 week!

Kenzie's favorite thing is to cuddle with anyone! Scout on the other hand is not much of a cuddler, but he lets his Kenzie girl snuggle right up! This is a very familiar site at our house. :)

As far as training goes things are getting much better! She is now about 95% potty trained, with occassional peeing in the house (no pooping though!), more so on days like today when it is yucky outside & we aren't out as much. She also is completely kennel trained, can sit, stay, come & has learned the word "no".
She is coming along & I think we can say she has become part of our family!

34 Week Appointment

We are finishing up week 34! Tomorrow starts our 35th week! I can't believe we are going to be welcoming our Baby Boy into the world soon! It seems so close yet so far away, but if April goes as fast as March did he will be here before we know it!
The last few weeks have been the toughest for me. This 3rd trimester has been my worst. I am just uncomfortable all the time, the swelling in my feet & legs is constant, the pressure in my pelvis & now my back is unbearable at times & to top it all off I can't sleep (between not being able to get comfortable & our Kenzie). I know I am complaining, I don't mean to, I am so ecstatic to be at this point & to be feeling Drake kick & move around so much.
I went to my 34 week appointment today. Dr. Miller said everything looks good & we are right on track. Baby/uterus is measuring right on schedule &his heart beat sounded healthy & strong. She also checked me again today (due to all the pressure I have). I have officially began dilating! Don't get too excited, she said she wouldn't even call it a 1 yet, but progress is progress, right?!? I can't even begin to imagine the pressure I am going to be feeling as we get closer & closer!
We have started making guesses about when we think lil Man will join us. I think it will be during the week of April 13th. Dustin thinks it will be the following week (April 20th) & my Mom said tonight she thinks it will be April 16th. She is going for the day, not even a range! Anyone else have any guesses??
Everything else is moving along. We have everything washed, opened & put away. We are prepared & ready whenever Drake wants to join us. I even have our bags packed for the most part!
Today my friend Amber (from work) is having her Baby Boy!! She has been on bedrest for 4 or 5 weeks now due to high blood pressure. She has been in the hospital since last Thursday & began showing symptoms of preclampsia. So she is now 37 weeks & her doctor decided it is time! They have had a long last 2 days, but hopefully by now they are holding their precious baby!

Family & Friends Baby Shower

On March 14, 2009 we had our Family & Friends Baby Shower!
The shower was at Stone Canyon in Parkville (great place for gatherings, they make you very comfortable & clean up). We had a packed room! It is so amazing to see all the Love & Support we have for our growing Family!
I have posted just a few pictures! Hope you enjoy!

A special Thank You goes to my Aunt Shelley for hosting the shower!
We would also like to Thank everyone for coming & for all the AMAZING gifts we received! We could not be ready if it wasn't for all of our wonderful family & friends!

Nursery

Here is a sneak peek at Mr. Drake's nursery!
We still have pictures to hang & final touches to do, but all in all it is ready!

I made the bedding (with help from Mrs. Sumner), we also made the curtains & will be making polka dot changing table covers.

A special Thanks to Amber for helping me paint the brown stripe! I could not have done it by myself!

I LOVE the way it turned out!!

This picture is dark, but it is our chair & changing table. I'm sure we will be spending lots of time at both of those. :)

We have the drawers & closet filled with clothes & all the goodies we need (plus more). Now we are just waiting on our 'lil' Man to arrive!

Week 31

We have just finished up week 31 of our pregnancy journey!

I must say week 31 has been a bit trying for me. I am feeling pretty good for the most part as long as my blood pressure stays down, I defiantly know when it is up though! Other than that fatigue has set in, it is harder to move around & get up & down, & my patience are defiantly a little shorter.

I'm still working full time, which is the plan until little Mr. gets here. It is much harder at this point, I get really tired & am having contractions when I am working, but they aren't too close together. I have stopped working 3 in a row & if I could do any schedule right now I would not work even 2 in a row, but that isn't always possible. I am trying to trade around with my co workers if it works out.

The dogs are getting along good & having a good time together playing nonstop! Kenzie & I have not had the best week, but we are working on it! I am sure it has something to do with me being 8 months pregnant & wanting to sleep not chase around a puppy. We just take it day by day & enjoy the cute puppy times! I will admit too that I have never in my life had an indoor puppy that I had to potty train & just train in general. Part of it too is that we are really trying hard to get her potty trained & in a routine before the baby arrives. I think we are on track, I just need more sleep! On a more positive note she is feeling much better & is not quite as congested. She is also doing really good in her kennel, we moved it to our room so she can her & see us which made a huge difference. If she could have it her way she would be in bed with us! She LOVES to cuddle & sleep in our laps or next to us which should be interesting when she is 70 pounds! Scout is good & adjusting well. I had to take him to the vet yesterday, he came up with a cough. They gave him a shot & put him on the same antibiotic as Kenzie was on. He is feeling fine, but I think the medicine makes him a little loopy. He is the BEST dog! He is just so easy! We have new pictures I will try to add in a bit!

Update From The Doctor's Office

The nurse called today about lunch time. She said your Toxemia labs came back within normal. Good news!
I told the nurse I had been checking my blood pressure regularly at home & that yesterday they were running 130-140/90's, but today they have been much better at 110-120/80's. I asked her at what point I should be concerned. She said if it consistantly stays 140/90 or above to call. I am also supposed to be watching for increased headaches, vision changes & nausea. Which I thought I told them I was having at my appt, but I will call if any of the above come back.
As you can tell I am a little frustrated. I know that right now everything is fine & with the labs coming back normal my body is handling the increase in B/P okay. But of course I am a worrier!
So I am back at work tonight & so far so good. I haven't checked my B/P yet, but I am feeling okay (just tired, goes with the not sleeping thing which I should probably get used to, right?). I am trying to just stay positive & not stress about anything, easier said than done at times.

The Doggies ;)

Just a few pictures from today!

Notice Kenzie's new pink collar!! Finally another girl in the house. :)

Friends already!

My Scout Boy! MUAH!!

We took both Scout & Kenzie to the vet yesterday. Scout got a clean bill of health, his vaccines up to date & his toe nails trimmed. Kenzie on the other hand has aspiration pneumonia (so they think) or a cold & is now on antibiotics twice a day. She also has a tiny skin issue, which they did the treatment for there (it is just a once a month deal). Later this month she will go back to get spade & her vaccines, they didn't want to give her the vaccines yet in case her immune system is fitting a cold. So she will keep us busy for a while! Other than that they said both dogs look great & to keep up the Love!

30 Weeks

We have made it to 30 weeks! Only 10 more weeks to go!!

Week 29 & 30 have probably been my hardest so far. My hormonal-emotions are running high (tears are easily made), I am really exhausted both because I am getting bigger & because I am having a really hard time sleeping at night. The swelling in my hands & feet is getting to be more (I can't wear my rings, that was not a good day, lots of tears). I get short of breath doing everything. You know the perks of being pregnant.

It has been a long time since I have posted pics (sorry!). So below are a few.

Today I also went to my doctor's appointment. I got maybe 4 hours of sleep last night so I wasn't in the best of spirits to began with. Then we go in the exam room & the nurse takes my blood pressure, then she takes it again. She says "your b/p's a little high, it is 120/100". That is really high for me! She had me lay on my left side for a few minutes & came back & did it again. It was much better at 110/80, but I'm not sure how accurate that is b/c she took it on my right arm while I was laying on my left side. Either way it was good enough for them. So the doctor came in & asked how I was feeling. I told her over the last few days I have been having headaches more frequently, some "floaties" in my vision at times, & I get exhausted & short of breath easily. She didn't seem overly concerned, but decided to draw some toxemia labs. So they will be calling me with those results tomorrow.

In the mean time I started writing down how I am feeling every couple hours & taking my blood pressure here at home. If it continues to be high I will tell them tomorrow when the nurse calls. In the mean time I am taking it easy on the couch. I decided to call into work tonight, I figured if I get weak going up the stairs to the bathroom I probably shouldn't be at work. I hope to get a good rest tonight & tomorrow & return tomorrow night. In the mean time I will be monitoring myself closely.

Introducing Kenzie!

Meet our newest addition Kenzie!

We have been looking for another dog for a little bit now. Hesitating of course because of the animals we already have & with the baby on the way. Well, yesterday we took the plunge! Scout really LOVES being with other dogs & we wanted him to have a companion.

Are we crazy? YES!

Do we love it? YES!!

Kenzie is a 3 month old, Pit bull. I know there is a lot of controversy about the breed. But after hours & hours of research & adopting Scout when he needed a good home we wouldn't want anything else. If raised in the right home Pits are amazing family dogs. Loving, loyal, protective & funny.

Kenzie is black in color with the white markings on her chest (just like Scout). She is short & stalky & has clumsy feet. She will grow to be between 60 & 70lbs full grown.

Kenzie is adapting well to her new surroundings. She is kennel trained & stays in there when we are gone & at night. We are still working on the potty training though. We take her out every 1 to 2 hours, but she is still peeing on the floor.
Any suggestions?
