The Beginnings of the Nursery

We have started on the nursery!

I know many of you are probably thinking it is early, but I want to be on top of things, not rushing at the end!

Anyway, we got it from Nebraska Furniture Mart. The one we wanted at USA Baby was really nice, but very expensive. We decided to be more practical & be able to get more items. I do really love this crib! The slats are wider which gives it a really nice look.

We were able to purchase a crib, mattress, 2 mattress pads, a chest, & a recliner. I know a recliner in a baby's room. I thought that too! I wanted a chair with ottoman, but we got to looking & this chair was 1/2 the price! I am sure we will LOVE it on the sleepless nights to come.

Of course we have much more to do. Which I am anxious to get going! Once we find out what we are having we will be ready to get bedding & curtains. The rest will come as we find it!

16 Weeks 4 Days

Time seems to be going by so fast, yet so slow!

We are so excited to have made it (almost) through the 4th month! I honestly never thought we would be here.

I went to the doctor today for my nurse visit. I haven't been feeling to great yesterday or today so they went ahead & had me come in. All is well! The heart beat is strong & steady. The rate has dropped into the 150's, which is totally fine, but lower than it has been. I still think it is a baby girl, but with this lower heart rate I am second guessing my instinct. I asked Dustin recently if he had an thought about what it might be, he said he really hasn't had a feeling either way.

It is so sweet now that my belly is showing. Dustin is always touching & kissing it. It has to be hard for Dad's to connect through this whole process when they aren't the one going thru the changes. I think he is finally realizing this is real! :)

I have pictures of nursery furniture to post, I will try to do that. Yesterday it wouldn't work, of course.

Anyway, that's all for now.

15 DAYS UNTIL WE FIND OUT IF OUR BABY IS A BOY OR GIRL!!! :)

For fun I will put a survey on the side of the blog, it will be fun to see what everyone thinks!

15 weeks 1 day

We are now at 15 weeks and 1 day!

I can't believe we have made it this far. Below are some "belly pics" from this morning. Keep going down, b/c I have posted lots of new posts/pictures!

Many of you have been asking about my Due Date. It is right now May 9th-ish.
With my previous ultrasounds that was moved up about 3 days. We are having our having our next ultrasound on Dec 10th, on that day we will find out if we are having a boy or a girl & a more on target due date based on the baby's size. I am thinking we will be having an end of April baby, but I am hoping to work until May 3rd so I can stay home for 12 weeks, but I guess I can't hold the baby in. :)

I am still wearing my regular jeans (well just this pair). They are stretch & sit really low. I will have to have Dustin take a better picture. I look smaller with these, it is hard to take a picture of yourself.

These are more what I look like! :)

Nursery

This is our old guest room, which is transforming into the nursery. We have cleared out all the furniture & I am dying to get baby stuff in there! We are going Saturday to USA Baby's sale & hope to come home with at least a crib & dresser.

Our Lovely Pets

These are just a few random pics from October

Back Track to Fall Decor

Yay! We found our camera cord! Of course Dustin found it in a drawer that I had looked in 3 times previously, go figure! :)

Anyway, these are pictures of my fall decor that I mentioned in a previous post.

14 Weeks & 4 Days

I went to my Doctor's appt this morning & all is GREAT!! I am measuring exactly where I should be, I have gained 1 pound, & the heartbeat is steady & strong!! What more could we ask for?!? The baby was even kicking the doppler while we were listening to the heartbeat, little stinker (that must come for Daddy).

I have grown a prego belly this week! I think I finally look pregnant, instead of questionable. :) My jeans are tight today, I think I need to go invest in a BellaBand, since they fit every where else I would rather do that than wear maternity jeans.

We got a little surprise today. We are going to find out what this little munchkin is on December 10th! We thought it was going to be the week of Christmas (because that marks 20 weeks,  but the Doc said we will do it at my next appt. Fine with me!! Then I can start working on the nursery. It is dying to get furniture in it!!

Other than that all is well. I am feeling good, much more energy now. The only 2 things are the headaches, which thankfully the Doc gave me a prescription today for some better medicine than Tylenol.  2nd is the the very painful "charlie horses" I get when I wake up. She said it could be that I need more Calcium. So since I don't like milk, I will be eating Tums (mmm, mmm can't wait).

I am still searching for the camera cord!! I have been looking all over. I promise as soon as I find it I will post a belly pic!!  Thanks everyone for checking in!

Drum Roll Please...

It is a big week in our house!!

We are currently 14 weeks & 1 day PREGNANT!!!

This means we have reached our second trimester! As I am sure all of you know by now, this past year has been a long & difficult road for us, but we now by the grace of God have a reason to celebrate! Nothing really was done differently this time around, I guess it is "just our time". I still take all the vitamins & aspirin everyday, but we did not do any other treatment.

I have to say I have been a some state of denial about the whole situation. I just can't wrap my mind around that this is actually happening. But in another since I am frantic to get the nursery started so we aren't doing everything at the last minute. We have already cleared out the room & we have been shopping for furniture. We haven't purchased any yet, but I'm sure that will be happening in the next few weeks. I just can't stare at an empty room!

I go back to the doctor on Monday morning, which is crazy considering I work all weekend! But it was too late to change appt once I realized it. Oh well, who needs sleep, right? Anyway, I will be seeing Dr. Miller that day, just for a check up. I then will go in 2 weeks for what they call a nurse visit, basically just peace of mind for me to hear the baby's heartbeat. Then back for the doctor's visit 2 weeks after that. I will be 20 weeks on Dec 18th, so we will be finding out what we are having right around Christmas! That will be a fun surprise!

As far as how I have been feeling, things are looking up. I of course have been tired, but this past week I have had more energy. I was "pukey" feeling from weeks 7 thru 10 or so, but that has almost completely gone away!! I never actually threw up, but at times I sure thought I was going to. :) I am now suffering from some headaches. I don't know if that is just me (since I do suffer from headaches at times) or if it is something to do with pregnancy. Either way Tylenol doesn't cut it, so I just have to deal with them. Not fun!!

For the baby the second trimester is a time to grow!! This week the baby is about 4" long & weighs in at about 1oz. The baby's body is growing quickly to began to catch up with the large head it has had up to this point. The ears that have been more toward the neck are beginning to move up to the sides of the head & the eyes are moving closer together.  The baby's reflexes are becoming more rapid this week too. The baby has decided that the uterus is a jungle gym, I can't feel it too often though because there is still so much free fluid around the baby. It will be a few weeks yet before I can feel all the kicks and punches.

Anyway, that is our big news for now!! I will post some belly pics as soon as I can find the cord to my camera. :) That is another wonderful thing about pregnancy, I have become very absent minded! I am planning to do at least weekly updates from now on & after doctor's visits. So in that case pictures soon & an update on Monday!

One Day At A Time

I am becoming a "bad blogger", I find that the time elapsed between blog entries is becoming longer & longer. This is not necessarily a bad thing! Where shall I start...

We have just been living our day-to-day lives, work & home.

Dustin is having difficulity getting payment from the National's job that I have mentioned in the past. It has been very frustrating for us, as we purchased many new (large) items to do that job. Anyhow, hopefully the tables have turned, we received a phone call from the person who connected Dustin to this job & we should be getting payment within the next couple weeks. If we don't then we may have to venture into learning about liens. Time will tell.

As for me just doing my usual, work, lunch with friends, taking care of the house, you know all the things us ladies do on a regular basis. I haven't been feeling quite up to par lately so I have to admit I have slacked on the housework a bit & gotten to know the comfyness of our couch much more often. I am starting to feel better so hopefully things will get back to normal.

The animals are as usual keeping us entertained. We had to shave Kitty's back again a couple weeks ago, his hair just gets to matted to brush out. He also either had a cold or some allergy issues & was sneezing a zillion times a day. Needless to say it was not a fun week for him, poor Kitty. Scout is doing good! He is such a trooper with all the sleeping that goes on in our house, with us working different shifts. He is lazy when we are lazy & up when we are up. We haven't been going on walks as often with the cooler weather & the rain, but he never complains, just is ready to go when we are. We do make sure though since he is not getting as many walks that we have at least a couple doggie playdates thru the week, he actually gets more exercise with them then going on a walk.

This week I finally bought some mums to plant in the area I have under the tree in our front yard. I was waiting for them to go on sale, since they have been so expensive this year. I finally found them at Lowe's for $2.75 a piece!! I was hopeing for yellow & burgundy, but ended up with yellow & lavender. I will have to post a picture & if they grow like I plan a nice big mounding picture next year. I need to post pictures of my fall decor I have out (that I might add has been out forever, I put them out too early!)

We got some good news that we will be getting a new patio & sidewalk in our backyard! This is the 1st step to our backyard renovation we are planning to dive into next Spring.

Hope this finds everyone well!

Catching Up

I know, I know it has been a long time since my last post. Sorry!!

Anyway, we have some things to update, where should I start.

Dustin finished the huge deck job at thie National's. 600 square feet of correct deck (remember it was 24 feet off the ground). We are still waiting for payment, but it is done & it looks good! We are done with those for a while. He has a few jobs set up to work with Chris (a friend of his that does this kind of thing full time) which are cash payouts & typically only 1 day at a time.

All this rain proved not to be such a good thing for us this past weekend. Our basement leaked through our window well, we have large black ants (the exterminator is coming tomorrow!), and Dustin thought he saw a mouse. I don't think he did b/c I have been keeping my eyes peeled and there are no signs around & I have not seen any mouse! Thank God!! I am so frightened of mice, so needless to say I am still keeping my eye out.

A good note of this weekend we were both home all weekend! We weren't really sure what to do with ourselves. So we spent a lot of money eating out & on Saturday bought a new truck. The truck is something Dustin has been wanting, I was just not so excited about increasing our monthly payment. When all was said and done he won, of course. I don't have pictures yet, but it is a 2007 Chevy Silvarado. It is very nice & will fit our needs better!

Other than that we are doing good! We have a surprise coming up, but you are going to have to wait a few more weeks. I know it is going to be hard... All the labs I mentioned last time came back great, it was just to check my hormone levels. We are still being monitored & moving forward. :)

That's all for now, I have pictures to post, but I don't have them at work with me. Maybe I will get them posted on Saturday.

Hope everyone is well! A quick CONGRATS goes to our friends Pat & Jessica on their great new house!! They seem to be slowly getting settled & loving it!!
